Why Monkeys
The reason I use monkeys in storytelling is that many children can relate to them. Stuffed monkeys equate to comfort and safety, just like teddy bears. They can help children handle emotions, stress, and provide a sense of security. Monkeys can also be used to comfort children in distressing situations, like when police officers use them to help calm children down. Using monkeys to tell stories about challenging topics like bullying can make the story more relatable and easier to understand. The hope is that children will learn valuable life lessons from the monkeys' experiences, and be able to apply these lessons to their own lives when faced with similar situations. For example, if a child is being bullied, they can learn from the monkeys' experiences and apply the techniques they learned to overcome their own situation.
